Our nannies are childcare specialists who will provide warm nurturing in-home childcare and act as a support person to active families. Nannies may be employed full-time, part-time, or on a temporary, occasional, or emergency basis. This includes short-term assignments (we always have a 4 HOUR MINIMUM AT ONE TIME), vacations, business trips, and individual nights and days, when needed. Full-time nannies will work whatever hours the family and nanny have agreed upon.
Nannies may live with the family or live independently. They all have their own cars. They will care for the children in a manner that is consistent with the parents' views and life style, and they are supportive of the parent-child relationship. The nanny will competently plan a child's day, including preparation of nutritious snacks and meals, do age-appropriate activities, and participate on an individual needs basis, depending on the family situation. Although the nannies are NOT housekeepers, they do anything and everything that pertains to the care of the children, including cleaning up after themselves and the children. Doing the child's laundry is a request that most nannies are agreeable to, as long as it does not detract from the care of the children on any particular day. |

A. SELECTION OF A PERMANENT FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME NANNY:
After a family registers with our Agency by submitting a completed FAMILY APPLICATION FORM and paying the non refundable APPLICATION FEE of $ 125.00 for a permanent full-time or part-time nanny, the selection process begins. We will clearly define your family's position so that we can offer you candidates who are a match with your family based on location, and the days and hours you need help. Other important considerations are the ages of the children, special needs of your children and family, duties and responsibilities, pets in the family, driving requirements, travel needs and the many other variables that enter into each family's unique situation.
B. INTERVIEWING:
After we have identified nannies who are appropriately qualified, suitable, and interested in your family's position, we will contact the family, and if the family is interested after hearing the nanny's background, we will arrange for a personal interview. We do not recruit from other parts of the country so the nanny candidates will be local to your area. Most interviews are held at the family's home at a time that is convenient for the family. If a family requests differently we will make arrangements for the interview to be held away from the family's home. If there are any costs associated with meeting the nannies elsewhere these costs will be assumed by the family.
C. PLACEMENT FEE FOR PERMANENT FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME NANNY:
If a family decides to make an offer of employment to a nanny referred by NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES, the family must notify NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES within 24 hours. The family and nanny will decide on a mutually agreeable salary. NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES is a referral agency. We are not the nanny's employer or co-employer. Each nanny establishes her own rate. Salaries are determined by the number of children the nanny will be caring for and the associated responsibilities, as well as the education and experience of the nanny. The following are general salary ranges for nannies:
LIVE IN NANNIES: $ 500-$ 800 per week
LIVE OUT NANNIES: $ 13.00-$ 18.00 per hour
When a nanny accepts an offer of employment a PLACEMENT FEE will be paid by the family to NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES before the nanny starts the position. The PLACEMENT FEE due is 20% of the nanny's projected first year's salary, based on a 52-week year, or a MINIMUM of $ 2,500, whichever is GREATER.***

D. PREPARATION OF WORK AGREEMENT:
Once a nanny and family mutually agree on the terms of employment NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES will formulate a FAMILY PLACEMENT AGREEMENT. This will outline the salary, days and hours of work, and the responsibilities of all parties involved. The FAMILY PLACEMENT AGREEMENT must be signed by all parties and the PLACEMENT FEE must be paid before any nanny can begin her position with the family. If a family withdraws their offer of employment after the nanny has accepted the position the family will be responsible for paying NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES a $ 500.00 cancellation fee.
E. GUARANTEE:
NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES provides a six week PROBATIONARY PERIOD for the family and nanny to decide whether the placement is working out for both parties. Should the family or nanny decide within this probationary period that the placement will not work out, NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES will make every effort to find another suitable nanny for the family. If the family does not want a replacement nanny we will refund 75% of the total placement fee that was due. After the Probationary Period NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES guarantees that the nanny will stay with the family for a minimum of one year. If the nanny leaves in less than one year and the family has not changed the job description, hours, or responsibilities or violated any terms of the Family Placement Agreement NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES offers a replacement nanny to fulfill the commitment at no charge to the family. If a suitable replacement nanny cannot be found NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES will refund a pro-rated amount of the PLACEMENT FEE, depending on how long the original nanny stayed with the family.
F: COLLECTIONS POLICY:
The family understands that in the event that NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES must seek collections of any of the fees as described above the family will be responsible for all costs of such collections, including all court costs, reasonable attorney fees and interest in the amount of 1.5% per month until the entire amount is paid.
G: OTHER:
It is customary for all permanent full time and part time nannies to receive two weeks paid vacation per year as well as all Federal Holidays off with pay if the holiday falls on a regularly scheduled work day. For example, if your nanny works 5 days per week she would get 10 paid vacation days; if she works 4 days per week she would get 8 paid vacation days, etc. Vacation is generally taken at a time that is convenient for the family unless a different arrangement is mutually agreed upon. It is also recommended that families contribute toward health insurance coverage whenever possible. Although it is not required it does increase the number of nannies who are interested in interviewing for your position.
H: SHORT TERM, TEMPORARY, OR OCCASIONAL NANNY CARE:
An ANNUAL, non-refundable FAMILY APPLICATION FEE of $ 75.00 registers your family with NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES PRN service (child care on an 'as needed' basis). The family will submit this fee, along with a completed FAMILY APPLICATION FORM and whenever you are in need of child care you will call NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES and let us know the day and time that you will need a nanny. We will provide you with a skilled and caring nanny who will provide your children with the best care possible in your absence. As much notice as you can provide is helpful, but generally, if you call us before 2 pm the day before we are able to help you the following day. We are sometimes asked to help on the same day and we will do our best to assist you for those cases and we are usually successful. We are not a 24 hour service but you may leave us a voice mail 24/7 and when we arrive at the office at 9 am M-F we will work on your request. Weekends are very busy so we do prefer to know by Thursday if you are going to need help for the coming weekend. Again you are free to make a request after that and we will gladly work on it for you.
I. RATES FOR TEMPORARY NANNIES:
Neighborhood Nannies is a referral agency and not the nanny's employer. Please consult your accountant for any applicable tax information.
TEMPORARY NANNY RATES: $ 13.00-$ 15.00 per hour based on the number of children
AGENCY FEE FOR TEMPORARY NANNY: $ 3.00 per hour on top of nanny's rate
1. Family pays the nanny directly at the end of each day.
2. Nanny will keep a time sheet and submit it to NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES.
3. NEIGHBORHOOD NANNIES will send a bill to family for all hours used.
4. THERE IS A FOUR HOUR MINIMUM AT ANY ONE TIME.
5. THERE IS A TWO HOUR CANCELLATION FEE ONCE ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE.
